Lord Mayor's Show Parade, London

Members of the Stedfast Association who played in a bugle band or similar who would perhaps like to be part of The Bugles and Drums of The Stedfast Association when we appear at this years annually televised Lord Mayor's Show Parade are invited to get in touch before the first practice date of 17th May.

Download the invitation here.

It is usually televised live, by the BBC on BBC1 and in addition thousands of spectators line the route both on the outward and return journeys.

The Pageantmaster is stressing to all participating bands, the need for attention not only to music but to drill and deportment, therefore, those wishing to participate will need to attend a number of practice dates.

Last years route is unlikely to differ (think it is 1.9 miles outward, 1.4 miles on the return. Together with the marching from where band members will possibly change, to bands check in point, to parade start (plus return) I would estimate it will be about 5 -6 miles in total, however this is spread over 7-8 hours or so.
